About Our Psychiatrist

Daniel Uderitz, MD
Psychiatrist
Board Certified in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry

Dr. Daniel Uderitz enjoys working with patients of all ages. He is originally from Western New York, but has stayed here in Charleston after finishing his Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training at MUSC. He completed his undergraduate work at SUNY Binghamton University in New York. He then attended Upstate Medical University in Syracuse New York for medical school. He stayed in Syracuse to complete his Adult Psychiatry training program.

Dr. Uderitz has become an experienced provider working now for several years in outpatient and inpatient psychiatric care settings. He carries with him experiences from multiple training institutions, granting him different perspectives on treatment approaches to obtain mental health. He takes an integrated approach to treatment of utilizing appropriate medications as well as providing therapy services. He has experience working with individuals as well as families. He also strives to collaborate with other providers where necessary to provide more effective care.

Dr. Uderitz has experience working with many different patient needs, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD/ADD (both adult and child), personality disorders, marital problems, and children’s behavioral problems. In his free time, Dr. Uderitz enjoys being active and on the move. He enjoys riding horses, riding ATVs, kayaking, boating, and just being outside in general.

Brooke Brooks, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Brooke Brooks graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina where she earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies (MSPAS). She is originally from the northeast but moved to the Charleston area after being accepted into MUSC’s program. She fell in love with Charleston and decided to stay after school.

She is very passionate about mental health and feels that kindness and compassion is of utmost importance as we all have unseen battles. Her goal is to make patients feel welcome, supported, and hopeful for the future.

Outside of the office, she enjoys taking walks with her husband and dog, being in the ocean, exercising, practicing mindfulness, and constantly reading and learning.

Zoie Reviere, PMHNP

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry

Zoie Reviere graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina where she earned her Master of Science in Nursing, and Doctor of Nursing Practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is originally from Spartanburg where she attended Wofford College and played Division One Soccer, but moved to the Charleston area for school.

She is open minded, and compassionate towards all individuals. She believes all individuals deserve the opportunity to find a mental health provider that works for their personal needs and she strives to build excellent rapport with all of her patients. She particularly enjoys working alongside and in collaboration with individuals struggling with depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and pediatric patients. Her goal is to create an accepting, and welcoming environment for all of her patients as they work together towards improving patients' ability to cope with their symptoms and improve their mental health.

Outside of the office Zoie enjoys spending time playing with her dog Luna, and being active outdoors and in the gym.

Michael Malizia, PMHNP-BC

Michael Malizia recently graduated with a Master's in Science of Nursing for Maryville University and subsequently became board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. In 2018, Michael made a life-changing decision to move from New York to South Carolina, where he continued his journey in healthcare with a strong commitment to improving mental health and well-being.

Throughout his career, Michael has worked in various clinical settings, from large medical centers to small community hospitals, adapting seamlessly to his new surroundings. He is a firm believer in the power of evidence-based practice, always staying current with the latest research and treatment modalities to ensure his patients receive the best care possible. Michael's approach is patient-centered, focusing on building trust, fostering open communication, and empowering individuals to take an active role in their mental health care.

In his free time, Michael enjoys a well-rounded set of hobbies. He treasures spending quality time with his wife and family. Additionally, he is an avid sports enthusiast, whether playing or watching his favorite teams compete. Michael also has a creative side, indulging in hobbies such as board games and painting. He is committed to maintaining a well-rounded and fulfilling life, both personally and professionally, with a mission to improve mental health.

Susan Taylor, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Susan Taylor graduated from South College in Knoxville, TN where she earned her Master's of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is originally from Ohio where she graduated from Kent State University with her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. She moved to Charleston area after visiting with her family and quickly fell in love with its history, beauty, and hospitality.

Susan is passionate about providing individualized compassionate care by listening and assessing each person holistically. She also believes that mental health is vital to everyone in their daily lives and is focused on helping others’ find balance in their daily lives. Professionally, Susan’s goal is for every client to feel seen, heard, and valued as a person and to be supported with lives challenges and successes.

Time away from the office, Susan enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors with her family. She also loves creative hobbies such as painting and woodworking.

Tasha Ponce, MA, LMFT

Tasha Ponce received an Associates Degree in Theology from Williams Baptist University before pursuing her Bachelor and Masters in Counseling Psychology at Simpson University in Redding, California. During her twenties she traveled extensively, lived six years in Hawaii, and did extended stays on three continents. Before stepping into counseling full-time, she enjoyed a varied career working with children/teens with disabilities, elderly dementia patients, media project management, sales, and even non-profit development. Tasha now spends her time with her husband and two children exploring the Lowcountry.

Mrs. Ponce has several specialties including: women’s issues, marriage, co-dependency, assertive communication, trauma, eating disorders, and addictions. It is her belief that the mind, spirit, and body cannot be separated and must be treated as a whole to find peace. Tasha Ponce considers a person to be a part of a community that all needs consideration to understand how the individual is functioning as a part of that system. Most of her counseling work has been spent in treatment centers doing inpatient and outpatient therapy both with groups and individuals. Her straightforward solution-focused approach helps clients to feel powerful as every positive change is celebrated and used as fuel for more positive outcomes.

Chantelle Kapp, LAMFT, ASDI

Specializing in Family Therapy, Couples Counseling, and Adolescent Therapy

Chantelle is a qualified couples and family therapist, having obtained her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. Before her work as a counselor, she collaborated with a range of conservation groups, establishing community projects and educational programs both locally and internationally. Her innate passion for children and communities ultimately led her to pursue a full-time career in mental health.

As a therapist, Chantelle specializes in a variety of areas, including working with children, adolescents, families, couples, and individuals. Her expertise extends to trauma, grief, loss, anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, and other emotional disorders related to childhood. She takes a holistic approach to therapy, considering each person's unique needs, as well as the dynamics involved in partner and family relationships.
